More health data, prettier dashboards—but what should I actually do differently?

by•

My ring tracks sleep and recovery. My workout app tracks training. Each gives me charts and scores, but I’m still the one trying to connect the dots.

Sometimes it feels like every app is another beautifully designed spreadsheet: useful for seeing what happened, less useful for deciding what to do next.

Adding an AI advisor doesn’t necessarily solve that. If I have to know what to ask, and the answer mostly explains the numbers already on screen, I’m still doing much of the work.

What I’d find useful is something that notices a pattern across those sources, explains why it might matter—and how uncertain it is — and helps me try a small adjustment, then checks whether it helped.

For example: has a change in my training routine coincided with worse sleep? Is it worth adjusting something for a week and seeing what happens?

I’m building in the wearable / smart ring space, so I have a stake in this question. I’d like to understand where this frustration is shared—and where existing tools already do a good job.

  • When was the last time a health app helped you make a useful change, rather than just understand a metric?

  • What did it do—or what was missing?
