Launching Vault soon: send help, wisdom, and maybe snacks

by

Product Hunt launch mode has officially begun… which means our team is now 40% excitement, 40% panic, and 20% refreshing things that haven’t even launched yet.

We’re getting ready to launch Vault on Product Hunt soon, and we’d love to borrow the collective brainpower of you all before we hit the big shiny launch button.

After months of building, tweaking, breaking things, fixing them, and pretending coffee counts as a project management tool, Vault is almost ready to meet the world. But we know a Product Hunt launch isn’t just about pressing “Launch” and dramatically staring at the screen.

So we’d love your wisdom on: How do we make launch day less “posting into the void” and more “hey, people actually showed up”? What helps a product get noticed, featured, or talked about? How do you keep engagement going without refreshing the page every 11 seconds?

And most importantly… how do you stay sane during launch week?

For those who’ve launched before: what worked, what flopped, what surprised you, and what would you absolutely never do again?

Drop your best launch advice, battle scars, secret rituals, or “please don’t do this” stories below.

Vault is almost ready. Our nerves are not.

Congrats on launching soon - I laughed at the 40/40/20 equation!! I'm going to follow this thread so I can learn from the collective wisdom as well. I'm not launching until September so I know I'll make many mistakes between now and then.

It can feel nerve-wracking to launch something into the world like this. But is there anything particularly that you're concerned about? Anything you're most excited about?

Then you might not be ready to launch. If you're nervous it's because there's uncertainties you haven't addressed.

"Build in public" is perfectly valid, but if you feel as though falling flat will take the wind out of your sails then consider extended beta release, 3rd party UGC and testimonials, reddit/discord open discussions, partnerships. Reach out to a 4 person plumbing LLC in Gary, Indian and give them the p*mp my ride treatment. Do a mockup site for the world's first karate robot. Maybe do a live website rebuild speedrun video to embed on the website, showcasing specifically how the service makes an old website look ready for 2030 in ABC123.
