Launching SearchSpot tomorrow, would love feedback from people who plan trips

by•

Hey everyone 👋

We’re launching SearchSpot on Product Hunt tomorrow. 🥳

SearchSpot is an AI travel concierge that helps turn messy travel research into ranked, explainable, bookable plans.

The reason we built it is simple: planning a trip is rarely just about finding places. It is about making the right calls across hotels, routes, budgets, food preferences, reviews, safety, weather, live events, group constraints, and everything that can quietly make or break the trip.

We’re trying to solve the part that still feels broken: decision confidence.

What should you choose?
What should you skip?
What is overhyped?
What fits your group?
What should you book first?
What hidden risks should you know before committing?

We’re still early, but people are already using SearchSpot for family holidays, group trips, weekend plans, hotel decisions, food research, local outings, and full itineraries.

Would genuinely love support and honest feedback when we go live tomorrow.

Also curious: if you’re usually the planner in your group, what is the most annoying or stressful part of planning a trip today?

Hey Hiten, congrats on the launch tomorrow! 🎉

As someone who built a holiday planning tool (), I feel your pain on the "decision confidence" problem — it's real.

To answer your question: the most annoying part of trip planning for me is actually the timing layer. You find a great destination, great hotel, great restaurants... and then realize you're arriving on a public holiday where everything is closed. Or worse — you book flights and only afterward discover it's a long weekend so prices are 3x what they should be.

That's literally why I built my site — to solve the "when should I travel" question before the "where should I go" question. Federal holidays, state holidays, school breaks, bank closures — all in one place with a live countdown.

There's actually a natural fit between our tools: SearchSpot helps people decide where to go and what to do, and Public Holidays Hub helps them pick the when. A traveler who checks holiday dates first and then uses SearchSpot to plan the actual trip would have a much smoother experience.

One piece of feedback for SearchSpot: consider adding a "holiday awareness" layer to your planning. If someone's building a Rome itinerary, flagging "June 2nd is Republic Day — some museums may have different hours" would be a game-changer. Most travel planners completely ignore local holidays and it ruins trips.

Good luck tomorrow — will be there to support! 🚀
