Launched Wastime today. About 2,130 hours so far

Hi everyone! Wastime went live on Product Hunt today. It is a small app about time and life for iOS and Android, and at the center of it is your life laid out in weeks.

It began in September 2024 as a weekend tool I built for myself, around one question. What does an ordinary day add up to if you keep living it for years? My ordinary small stuff, carried forward ten years, came to about 6,500 hours, close to nine months of life ... Since then I have put roughly 2,130 hours into the app.

Most of it grew around that same question. There's the Leftover calculator, which estimates the time you likely have left with the people you love, Converter, which turns a price into the hours of work behind it, the Wastime Journey, a few chapters about the thinking the app came from. There's a time diary too, if you want to keep your hours, and what counts as meaningful or wasted there is your call. A topic can even move to the other side later. I added that because it happened to me. Sometimes you're sure you are investing your time in something, and only much later you see you'd rather not have done it at all.

Everything personal stays in a local database on the phone and works offline, unless you choose to publish your life calendar as a web page. The personal tools need no account and show no ads, and usage statistics stay off until you agree to them.

If you try it, I'd like to hear where it felt off. I'd rather hear about it now than keep guessing.
