Introducing Nopewallet — A Simple, Secure, Open-Source Multi-Chain Web Wallet

“As the developer, if I trust Nopewallet enough to use it for my own daily crypto activity, I believe others can safely benefit from it as well.” Give it a try and post the feedback.

Nopewallet is a modern, privacy-first, multi-chain cryptocurrency wallet built with Next.js, Shadcn/UI, and Node.js.
It is designed to be lightweight, transparent, and secure — giving users full control of their assets with no extensions, no tracking, and no unnecessary complexity. Unlike existing Next.js starter wallets and templates, Nopewallet is a full self-custody, multi-chain functional wallet, and as far as we know, there isn’t another open-source project quite like it.

Nopewallet first version supports Solana, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, and Bitcoin, all in one minimal, intuitive interface.

Why Nopewallet

Most wallets today are bloated, closed, or invasive. Nopewallet is built for people who want a wallet that is:

  • private by default

  • open-source and auditable

  • simple but powerful

  • fast and fully client-side

  • free of analytics and tracking

Nopewallet never sends private keys, seed phrases, or sensitive data to any server.

Core Features

1. 100% Client-Side Key Handling

Your keys never leave your browser.

  • WebAuthn biometric unlock

  • AES-GCM encrypted vault

  • PBKDF2 password fallback

  • No server can view, store, or recover your keys

Everything is decrypted only locally and only in memory.

2. Multi-Chain Support

Manage and transact across:

  • Solana

  • Ethereum

  • BNB Smart Chain

  • Polygon

  • Bitcoin

Native coins and EVM tokens supported, including custom ERC-20 contracts you can add yourself.

3. Minimal Architecture

The wallet is intentionally simple:

  1. Unlock

  2. Accounts

  3. Send

This keeps the experience clean, predictable, and fast.

Real-Time Markets Powered by Paynope Free Data API

Nopewallet integrates with Paynope, which provides a free, open API for:

  • real-time price feeds

  • charts

Important notes:

  • data is pulled directly from a public endpoint

  • the wallet does not send any data back

  • you can replace the data source with your own endpoint at any time

This ensures privacy while giving developers full customization.

Open-Source & Developer Friendly

The entire wallet is open-source on GitHub:

https://github.com/nopewallet/nopewallet

Developers can:

  • fork it

  • extend it

  • embed it

  • self-host it

  • customize token lists

  • swap out data providers

  • integrate new chains

Nopewallet is built to be simple, inspectable, and reliable.

If you wonder among hundreds of wallets, why we built Nopewallet

We are working on Paynope, a crypto payment gateway, and found it challenging to find a simple, secure, and open-source web wallet (specifically Nextjs, Shadcn, Node.js) that we could easily integrate into our platform. Most existing wallets were either too complex, had backend dependencies, or lacked transparency. This motivated us to create Nopewallet, a wallet that meets our needs and can be used by others as well. We have open-sourced the project to contribute to the community and promote secure, user-controlled asset management.
