I’m not sure whether to keep expanding a calculator product
I’ve been working on a small calculator project for a while, and I’ve reached a point where I’m genuinely unsure which direction makes sense.
There are several calculators on it for different use cases. One of the more specific ones, a warranty calculator, has been getting better usage than I expected.
That sounds like an obvious signal to build more similar tools, but I’m not convinced it is.
With small utility products, I imagine it’s easy to mistake a little early traction for a product-market signal when it may simply mean that one particular search query happens to have more demand.
So I’m trying to figure out how other makers handle this situation.
If one narrow feature or use case starts getting significantly more attention than the rest:
Do you normally double down on that use case?
How much data do you wait for before treating it as a meaningful signal?
Have you ever followed an early usage signal and later regretted it?
Or is it better to keep testing unrelated use cases until a clearer pattern appears?
The project is MyCalculatorsKit, if the context is useful: https://mycalculatorskit.com/
I’m still very much in the learning stage with this, so I’d be grateful for perspectives from people who have dealt with this kind of decision before.
