I’m building Recounts because I keep forgetting the ordinary parts of my life

A few months ago I was looking through old photos and realised something kinda annoying.

I could see where I was and who I was with, but for a lot of them I couldn't remember what actually happened that day.

The random conversations, stupid jokes, small things that happened — basically everything that made the memory a memory.

I'm still figuring out what this should become, and one thing I'm especially curious about:

When you look back at something you wrote months or years ago, what actually makes it worth reading again?

Is it the event itself, the people involved, photos, how you were feeling at the time, or something else?

I'm asking because I don't want Recounts to become another place where people write things once and never look at them again.
