I’m building an app to help men understand their partner’s hormonal phases

by

Hi everyone !

After years with my partner I was still sometimes confused by what I used to label as her "mood swings" — until I realised it wasn't mood swings at all. It was hormonal phases genuinely affecting her energy, emotions and needs. Once I started studying this, everything changed. I learned to approach her with the right energy at the right moment — when she needed space, when she needed support, when she was at her most communicative or her most withdrawn.

So I started building Cycle Sense.

The idea is simple: the app gives men an easy way to understand where their partner is in her cycle and what might be happening with her energy levels and hormones, so they can be more informed and better support her throughout the month.

All you need to do is enter her cycle dates and cycle length — with her consent, of course.

No spying, no tracking, no guessing. Just better information and, hopefully, better-informed communication between couples.

The app is working, but it's still early — and before I spend months adding features, I want to find out whether this is actually useful to real people.

I'm looking for 10–20 couples to try CycleSense and give me brutally honest feedback.

I'd love to hear:

  • Would you actually use something like this?

  • Does it make you feel more connected or more awkward?

  • Is the information useful?

  • Does the consent system feel right?

  • What would make you keep using it?

  • What features would you add?

  • How does your partner feel about it?

  • And, most importantly, what sucks?

I want to know whether this solves a real problem.

If you're in a relationship and you'd be willing to give it a try, comment below or send me a message and I'll send you the link to the website.

I'm curious to see what happens when this leaves my laptop and gets into the hands of actual couples.

Thank you so much in advance.
Rob
