“I KNOW I saw this somewhere…” — why is the internet so hard to remember?

We built MemShift around a frustrating problem we kept experiencing:

You find something incredibly useful online.

A GitHub repo.
A YouTube tutorial.
An article.
A Reddit post.
A random page that perfectly explained something you were struggling with.

You think:

“I'll definitely remember this.”

You don't. 😭

A few days later, you remember the information but completely forget where you found it.

Then you start searching:

Browser history → Google → YouTube → bookmarks → old tabs → more Google searches…

And sometimes you still can't find it.

The internet is incredibly good at helping us discover information.

But it's surprisingly bad at helping us rediscover information we've already seen.

That's the problem we're exploring with MemShift — a memory layer for the internet that helps you find those things again without needing to remember exactly where you saw them.

We're currently testing the early version with users, and we'd genuinely love to know:
