I got tired of Wispr Flow’s price and weekly limit, so I built Floe

I’d gotten used to Wispr Flow, but the price felt steep for how I used it, and I kept running into the free plan’s weekly limit. So I decided to build my own.

It’s called Floe. Hold Fn, speak, and it types into your current text field. It supports Chinese and English, including mixed speech (I'm happy to support more, just comment your interest of language below), and runs entirely on your Mac. It’s completely free, and the source is on GitHub. I built it for myself, but it’s been working well enough that I wanted to share it.

It’s still an early release, feel free to try and comment. Requires Apple Silicon and macOS 14+.
