I built local AI that can use every computer you already own

Most powerful local-AI tools are free and open—but using them still means living in a terminal, editing config files, and wiring together models, agents, and APIs.

I built LocalAGI to make that stack usable as one desktop app.

You can give a task to a team of agents for research, browser automation, image or video creation, while keeping models on your own hardware. If one machine is too weak, a trusted computer can provide compute through an end-to-end encrypted private network.

The part I’m most excited about is Hive Mind: it splits one model across multiple machines. Our test setup runs Qwen3.6-35B (4-bit) across a 16GB MacBook and a Windows PC with a 16GB RTX 5060 Ti—neither machine can fit it alone.

There’s also an optional public network where capable machines can lease spare compute, but local and private modes remain the core.

LocalAGI is available now for macOS and Windows; Linux is next.
