A new, ultra-high-performance DB service, an alternative to Supabase and Firebase.

by

For a long time, I delivered projects to my clients as freelancers, often with Supabase or Firebase as a backend. Today, with Aurabase, I am building the only European alternative to these platforms.

The trigger came from the field. With each project, the same questions came up: where is my data, who can access it, what happens if the supplier changes its prices overnight. These are legitimate questions, which Firebase and Supabase, which are subject to the American CLOUD Act, do not answer serenely for sensitive data.
Three frustrations recur among those who build digital products today:

Sovereignty. An "EU" region checked on a dashboard does not change the nationality of the company that hosts your data.

The surprise bill. A spike in traffic or a poorly indexed request, and the score of a serverless backend can explode overnight.

The impossible choice between comfort and control. Either a managed BaaS and its dependency, or self-hosting and its operating burden.

Aurabase starts from these three points. A complete backend platform, hosted exclusively in Europe, that brings together what you usually assemble yourself: dedicated database per project, authentication, file storage, real-time, server functions, notifications, and AI connected to your data.

Your data belongs to you, remains in Europe, reversible at any time.

Who it's for: developers and small teams who want to launch quickly, growing startups whose backend needs to absorb the ramp-up without blowing the bill, and more and more organizations for whom compliance is not an option for health, HR, finance, public sector. For them, sovereign hosting is not a marketing argument, it is a constraint carried by their DPOs and lawyers.

We are in open beta, we say it clearly, without false customer testimonials. Readable pricing: Generous free plan, fixed-price Pro, Enterprise plan for advanced compliance.
Two other subjects are close to our hearts: technical sobriety, an architecture that weighs less on the environment, and the growing role of AI agents in development, for which we want Aurabase to be a natively understandable backend.

based in Toulouse, supported by the Nubbo incubator, in the launch phase with our first users. We are convinced that Europe has the means to build its own digital infrastructure. and that Europeans' applications are hosted and managed by Europeans.

If these issues of sovereignty, predictable costs, and control over your data speak to you, the Aurabase Open Beta is accessible via list now.
