Preorders, biggest buzzkill EVER
Maddie Bleistern
@sandrojazzar Sandro, it is kind of a buzzkill! I wish we were ready to ship right away, too. We're a small team, but I know we'll we'll get there :)
Brian Kennedy
@sandrojazzar Argh, I thought the same thing when I saw Spring 2017. I remember as a kid I read about the game Dark Forces in a magazine, and then later that day we were at Costco and IT WAS THERE. Would love more "Surprise, it's out!" but these companies need buzz to get going.
Josh Birdwell
@sandrojazzar feels the same when I see it leads to a crowd sourcing page. I'd go to Kickstarter if I wanted to back something.

@bleistern It's just that I was ready to whip out my CC! Now you'll either have to remarket me when you launch or miss an opportunity! I don't rlly like to order something and wait, especially when it's a cool product! 😝 U should take it as a compliment! 😁 And giving out my email for updates isn't ideal either :( but I promise to keep an eye out for when u ship ;)
Jorge Bestard
@_birdwell @sandrojazzar I think the restriction they might've had is Kickstarter makes you have a working prototype. The video looks like its cgi?
Austin Sandmeyer
I love this, I just want it NOW! Guess I'll just have to settle it with my current usage of sticky notes... 🙃
Maddie Bleistern
@as_austin if we had a national ad campaign, I'd find some way to work this in. 😂
Derek Nuzum
@as_austin I didn't think anyone else did this but me. 👌
Austin Sandmeyer
@bleistern YES! 🙌😂
Brandon Bailey
@as_austin I feel like the only reason you posted a comment was to be able to post a video. It was worth it.

looks like a cool product. video:

@searchresults @_jacksmith It took me way to long to figure out this was a joke...

Hey Everyone! The team and I have been looking forward to this day for some time now. There are a lot of things being connected to the internet, some more useful than others. Tweeting toasters, fridges that take pictures of your food. With SeeNote, we wanted to make something that was truly helpful, day in and day out. Something to solve daily problems: ~ Leaving home without an umbrella ~ Forgetting lunch in the fridge ~ Darting out the door only to sit in delays at the platform or in the car ~ Missing an important note because it’s buried in notifications ~ Fumbling with a smartphone for access to smart home controls We found ourselves already using traditional sticky notes to solve some of these problems. Invented nearly 40 years ago, the sticky note is a proven tool. With SeeNote, we feel we've taken the utility of that tool a step further, by making it digital and dynamic. We hope you love it as much as we do!

Neat. Too bad it's a year out.
Scott Ruona
This is exactly what I wanted to do with my Kindle.
Maddie Bleistern
@scottruona Us too! Our first prototype was a hacked Nook. Wanted something always on, so ePaper seemed the right tech for the job!
Scott Ruona
@bleistern Will there be an API for 3rd party apps? I'd love to have my Wunderlist on there!
Daylen Sawchuk
@scottruona Yes, SeeNote will have an open API :)
Daylen Sawchuk
@scottruona Yes, SeeNote will have an open API :)
Hans Gerwitz
@scottruona same here … I've been looking for a used Kindle to hack for this purpose, but am much happier to buy a finished product.
Stefanie Amini
SHUT UP and take my money!!! $$$ This is so cool...can it also measure the temperature inside the house?
Maddie Bleistern
@stefamini Hey Stefanie!! At first, I wasn't sure if I should shut up, or answer ;) but yes; if you have a temperature sensor in your house that talks to IFTTT, then you certainly could configure SeeNote to display that data.
Stefanie Amini
@bleistern Thats awesome. You guys rock! Good luck and cant wait to have it in my house!
Stefanie Amini
@bleistern and answering is good! shutting up can get you into trouble! :P
Stephen M. Levinson
Do you have an actual working prototype? I noticed the screens and UI interactions in the video were added later in post production.
Maddie Bleistern
@stephenmarklevi yes! we do have a working prototype; it's not as pretty as the one in the video but it works! (It's based off of existing android-based e-reader hardware)
Derek Nuzum
Very cool. Just wish it wasn't preorder like others have said. Any dev docs available at this time?
Maddie Bleistern
@dnuzum Thanks, Derek! We plan on making the dev docs available by Fall 2016
Derek Nuzum
@bleistern Sounds great! Seeing those will maybe sway me to preorder. ;)
Aram Shahinyan
This is absolutely brilliant! I do love such kind of products, when simple things we use every day are reimagined and presented in a new better way! The neat design is also kicking ass! Great job, thumbs up!
Maddie Bleistern
@aramiggs Really appreciate the kind words, Aram! We think there's magic in taking something people already use and know well, and upgrading it! Happy to hear you're digging the design as well :)
