I kept falling behind on YouTube videos, so I ended up building a small tool for myself that emails me transcripts from channels I follow. Now I just skim summaries (using Gmail/Outlook AI features) and only watch the ones that seem interesting. It actually saves a lot of time. Not sure if others do something similar, but curious how you all manage content overload?

I feel like there are way too many YouTube videos to keep up with these days. I kept saving videos to watch later, but realistically never had time to go through all of them. So I tried a different approach—getting transcripts of new videos from a few channels I follow and just skimming them first. It’s been surprisingly helpful since I can quickly decide what’s actually worth watching.
YouTube recently added a summary feature powered by Gemini, but it doesn’t provide full summaries, so it feels a bit lacking when I want to scan more detailed content. Plus, you still have to visit each video page individually to see the summary, which can be inconvenient. Getting the full transcript delivered by email is just a lot easier to review everything in one place.
Curious how others deal with this—do you just watch everything, or do you filter somehow?
