ScreenOtter - Cinematic Screen Recordings, Without the Editing

by
ScreenOtter is a Mac screen recorder that helps you create polished product demos, tutorials, and walkthroughs without manual editing. It automatically zooms in on your clicks, adds word-by-word subtitles, displays keyboard shortcuts, detects typing sections, and lets you add facecam, system audio, mic audio, and music. Built for founders, developers, creators, and SaaS teams who want their recordings to look edited without spending hours in an editor.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I’m Mohit, and I built ScreenOtter because I kept seeing the same problem with product demos: A normal screen recording is technically accurate, but visually boring. The cursor is tiny, clicks are easy to miss, typing takes forever, and captions are usually skipped because they’re painful to add manually. ScreenOtter tries to fix that by doing the boring editing work automatically. It can: • auto-zoom smoothly into your clicks • add word-by-word subtitles • detect typing and let you speed it up • show keyboard shortcuts on screen • record facecam, mic audio, and system audio • add background music • export clean 1080p videos with no watermark on the paid version The biggest inspiration/benchmark in this space is obviously Screen Studio, which is a great product. I wanted to build a simpler and more affordable option for people who want most of that polished demo workflow without another subscription. ScreenOtter is $19 one-time during early bird. The regular price will be $59 later. I’d love feedback from anyone who records SaaS demos, coding tutorials, walkthroughs, launch videos, or support videos. What would make this useful enough for you to switch from your current screen recording workflow?
