Hey Product Hunt 👋 I built ScreenBuddy because most focus tools felt either too passive or too aggressive. Passive trackers tell you at the end of the day that you drifted. Hard blockers treat every app as good or bad forever. But real work is contextual: YouTube can be productive if you’re learning something, and a distraction if you’re supposed to be coding. ScreenBuddy’s buddy, Pesto, sits in the middle. You choose your current pursuit, it watches local app/window activity, and Jarvis Mode warns you before safely minimizing distractions after a countdown. A few design rules matter a lot to me: - no closing tabs or killing apps - no mouse takeover - no screenshots for core focus guarding - reversible actions only The current beta is Windows-first. I’d love feedback on one question: does Jarvis Mode feel helpful, or annoying?

been using it for a couple days and the context recovery is honestly the standout, jumping back into where i left off without thinking about it feels natural. wish the focus guard was a bit easier to customize but overall really solid.

The reversible focus guarding is a nice touch, letting me undo accidental blocks without restarting my session. Context recovery after switching tasks worked smoothly on my setup.

Does the focus guarding actually block apps silently or does it pop up a warning each time, and can I set different rules for work hours vs evenings?

the reversible focus guarding is such a thoughtful touch, finally a tool that respects that attention isn't always linear

The context recovery feature is genuinely useful, picked up right where I left off after a crash. Focus guarding feels less intrusive than other tools I've tried.
