Why I built Screen Bolt (and made it lifetime instead of subscription)
Hey Product Hunt 👋
Today we're launching Screen Bolt, and honestly I'm a bit nervous typing this out.
Here's the short story: I kept watching beautiful product demo videos online and wondering how solo makers were affording $200+/year tools just to record their screen. So I started building my own. A few weeks later, Screen Bolt was born.
What it does: A Mac screen recorder that automatically makes your videos look polished. Think auto-zoom on clicks, smooth cursor movement, keystroke overlays, multi-display support, and clean export presets for YouTube, Twitter, and product pages.
Why it might matter to you:
One-time payment, lifetime updates (no subscriptions, ever)
Built specifically for indie hackers, YouTubers, course creators, and product folks
Shipping updates almost every week based on what users actually ask for
The wild part: I quietly shared it with a small group a couple of days ago and 20+ people already bought it before this launch. That kind of validation early on is what pushed me to go all in on Product Hunt today.
Would love your honest feedback, feature requests, or just a hello in the comments. And if you find it useful, an upvote would genuinely make my week 🙏
