Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm Luis, founder of SCAPTION, writing from Spain.
I'm an AV engineer and an event organiser, and for years I watched the same thing happen.
An event is three weeks out. Somebody realises that half the room will not follow the speaker, a different language, hard of hearing, or just the back row. There are two options, and both fail for the same boring reason: time.
Human interpreters. They are excellent and they are expensive: 50–150 € an hour, per interpreter, PER LANGUAGE PAIR. Two languages for one day is four figures before anyone has said a word. They also have to be booked weeks ahead, and you no longer have weeks.
An AI platform. Cheaper in theory. Except most of the ones built for conferences do not publish a price at all: you fill in a form, wait for a sales call, and get back a per-event quote with a setup fee on top. That round trip takes days you do not have, and it arrives too big anyway. Several of them also bill you per attendee, so the better your event does, the more it costs.
So most events just do not do it. The room gets one language, and everyone else follows along or does not.

No app, no login. They can ask questions and vote, and it goes up on the venue screen when the moderator decides to.
• Caption screen: open a web page on the venue TV or projector and you are done.** Large type, one or two languages side by side, chosen on the screen itself. No app on that machine, no video mixer, no hardware. This is the part that means a room with a TV and a laptop can run it.
• Created for AV professionals: output as a REAL alpha-channel NDI source, or chroma-key over HDMI, or the same caption screen on a green or blue background for the mixer to key. vMix, TriCaster, ATEM, an LED wall, it composites like any other input.
• Works for Zoom, Teams and Meet: it listens to the computer's own audio, so no bot joins the meeting.
