Saga - The smart sample browser for music producers
by•
Saga indexes your sample folders in place, detects tempo, key and sound type, then lets you search, audition and drag samples into your DAW already stretched and pitched to your project. Local, private and light on CPU. macOS and Windows.

Hi PH 👋 I'm Falcighol, the creator of Saga.
I make music, and my sample folders turned into a mess: tens of thousands of files across several drives, with tempo and key written (or not) in the file names. Every browser I tried either wanted to import and move everything or left me to stretch and pitch each loop by hand once it was in the DAW.
Saga is what I wanted instead:
Nothing moves. It indexes your folders where they are and never renames or copies your files.
It hears your samples. Tempo and key come from file names, embedded loop data, or the audio itself. Anything estimated from the audio is marked with ≈ so you know to check it.
It plays in your key. Set the project tempo and key once, and loops follow while you audition. What you drag into your DAW is exactly what you heard.
Find similar and the sound map. Every sample sits in a 2D map, with similar sounds clustered together. You can also hum or beatbox to search.
The Lab. Scales, chord progressions (with MIDI drag-out), a key finder and tempo and tuning tools, all feeding back into your library.
Private. Everything runs on your machine. The only network call is the update check, and you can turn it off.
It's built with Tauri and Rust, so it's fast and stays light on your CPU while your DAW is running.
I'd love to hear what would make this useful in your workflow.
