Have you ever planned a trip or even just an evening out in a new area and fell down the rabbit hole of trying to figure out, "Is this place actually safe?" I have. Constantly. When I moved to a new city, I was paralyzed by safety anxiety. Every plan started with a dozen Google searches: "is [neighborhood] safe at night," "safe for solo women," etc. Friends gave conflicting advice, my parents were worried sick, and online forums were a mix of outdated posts and unhelpful "I felt fine" anecdotes. Social media shows picture-perfect solo trips, but it never shows the reality of clutching your keys in your pocket or skipping an event because you're not sure how you'll get back alone. I realized the information I needed didn't exist. Nobody tracks the data that actually matters: not which cafe has the best coffee, but whether you'll get harassed on the 10-minute walk there at 7 PM. So, I decided to build the solution: Safe or Not.
