Rubato - A daily planner that flows when your day doesn't go to plan

by•
Rubato stacks your day in order instead of pinning everything to a time. Run late and everything after shifts; finish early and it moves up. Fixed meetings stay put. iPhone + Mac (menu bar), iCloud sync, no account, one-time purchase. Free 14-day trial.

Hi Product Hunt, I'm Yujiro, a sound designer in Japan, and this is my first app. I built Rubato because every planner I tried broke the moment my day did. Time-blocking apps assume you'll start things when the block says. I never do. One meeting runs long and the rest of the day is wrong, and I stop looking at it. Rubato treats the day as a stack. You pile up what you want to do, in order. The current one is at the top. Finish it and the next one becomes current. If something runs long, everything after it slides later; if you finish early, everything moves up. Meetings and appointments are "fixed-time" events: they stay where they are, and the flexible work flows around them, splitting if it has to. The plan stays true all day without you re-planning it. Some things I care about: - It sounds good. Every completion has its own sound and haptic (I did the sound design myself). - Nights count. Past midnight the timeline keeps going: 25:00, 26:00. Your day ends when you sleep. - Mac is a real menu bar app, not a port. One click opens today's stack; you can pin the panel next to your work. - No account, no server. It syncs through your own iCloud. - No subscription. Free download, 14-day trial of everything, then one purchase unlocks iPhone and Mac. It's in English and Japanese, with full VoiceOver support. 30% off through Oct 20 with this link:
