Hey Product Hunt! I built RocketQuote after talking to a bunch of contractors — plumbers, electricians, HVAC guys — and hearing the same story over and over. They’d walk through a job, know exactly what it needed, then spend 30-45 minutes that evening at their laptop trying to type up a quote in Word or Google Docs. By the time they sent it, the homeowner had already gone with someone who responded faster. These are people who are incredible at their trade but hate the paperwork side. Most of them aren’t using fancy software — they’re texting prices from their Notes app or emailing janky spreadsheets. So I built something dead simple. You describe the job or scan it, AI builds a full itemized quote using your saved rates and branding, and you text it to the client before you leave the driveway. They approve and pay the deposit right on the quote. The biggest thing that evolved during the build was the rate card feature. Originally the AI just estimated pricing, but contractors kept saying “that’s not what I charge.” So I added the ability to save your own services and rates. Now the AI pulls from your pricing instead of guessing, and the quotes come out right the first time. It also became a retention hook I didn’t plan — once a contractor has 50 services saved, they’re never switching apps.
