When I used to study for long hours or work deeply on a project, something strange would happen after about 30 minutes - I start feeling frustrated, mentally foggy, and even stressed. I begin skipping questions, overlooking key details, and making silly mistakes that later cost me hours in debugging or review. It was exhausting.
A friend once told me, “Just take a short break when you feel that way.” So I tried. But during those breaks, I end up scrolling reels or watching random videos… and honestly, it made things worse. I felt even more distracted and frustrated afterward.
After learning more about how stress affects the brain, I decided to experiment. I started doing something simple, when I felt stressed, I just got up and took a one-minute walk, then drank some water. And surprisingly, it worked. I felt refreshed. My focus returned. I was curious again, and my performance started improving. I was getting things done with much less stress.
That small win inspired me to explore more neuroscience-backed stress relief techniques
and they really helped! One favorite, I created a collection of reels or short videos that genuinely made me smile. Watching one of them when I was low instantly boosted my mood. Same with calling a friend, listening to music I love, or even just chatting with someone nearby.
