Why I built REDACT — and what forensic investigators actually look for

Most privacy tools are built from the user's perspective.

REDACT was built from the investigator's perspective — in reverse.

I studied exactly what tools like FTK Imager, AXIOM, and Cellebrite examine when they forensically analyze a Windows machine. Then I built REDACT to target those exact artifacts: 285 of them across browser history, NTFS change journals, Windows Recall AI snapshots, registry traces, live RAM, and encrypted volume key material.

The result: a platform that thinks like an investigator — to protect people who need real privacy.

It was already downloaded in 29 countries before I announced it anywhere.
