Recall Reads - Turn wisdom and ideas from your book into lasting insights

by
Recall Reads helps you stay connected to the ideas from books that changed you. Instead of letting great insights fade after you finish reading, it generates personalized wisdom from any book and brings it back through daily reminders, widgets, Apple Watch, and lock screen experiences. It’s not a reading tracker or a quote app. It’s a new way to make the wisdom from your books part of everyday life.

Hi everyone! 👋 I’m Guido, the solo developer behind Recall Reads. The idea came from a frustration I kept having. I’d spend hours reading books that genuinely changed how I thought, only to realize a few months later that I barely remembered them. There are plenty of apps to help you read more books, highlight passages, or track your progress. But I couldn’t find anything focused on helping the ideas actually stay with me. That’s why I built Recall Reads. You simply add a book you’ve read, and the app generates thoughtful insights inspired by its key ideas. Those insights quietly come back throughout your day via widgets, notifications, Live Activities, and even Apple Watch complications, so the books continue to influence your thinking long after you’ve finished reading them. My goal wasn’t to build another productivity tool. I wanted to create something that helps people build an ongoing relationship with the books that shaped them. This has been my first iOS app and a long journey of learning Swift, AI, design, and everything else that comes with building a product from scratch. I’m excited (and honestly a little nervous) to finally share it. I’d love to hear your feedback, answer any questions, and learn what you’d like to see next. Thanks for checking it out! ❤️

Finally an app that pulls the actual ideas back out instead of letting them collect dust. The lock screen reminders are surprisingly nice for quick mid-day resets.
