A brutally honest, deeply customizable weather app, on every screen you own
Hey PH. I'm a solo founder, not an engineer by training. I built the weather app I always wanted: RAD Weather.
Hopefully this is the right spot ( new to PH as a contributor and everyone says I finally need to post here)
Two things drive it. It's brutally honest, so it won't dress up a guess as a confident promise. And it's accurate and endlessly customizable, so you can shape it around how you actually read the weather instead of fighting someone else's layout. It also has a look of its own: a dot-matrix, old-terminal aesthetic instead of the usual glossy gradients.
The other big thing is it’s ok being wrong, sometimes tells you what level of confidence and tells you why. I’m all about transparency and what it can and can’t do.
I’ve been working on a self auditing non ai backend that crunches 70k+ hours of historical data and compares with my weather brain I call “RAD CORTEX”
The goal is an endlessly smart and growing weather brain with new features always being added.
We’ve built an amazing community at r/radweather on Reddit and the community has helped push this app so far and honestly a lot of amazing features are from the community. I love giving the community a voice and a sense of ownership and pride on this amazing platform that’s grown.

I'm not here to sell anything tonight. I mostly want to hang out with makers and hear how you think about weather and design. One tease: the biggest update I've ever built, 8.0, is close, and I'll share it here when it lands.
Two questions I genuinely want answered:
What does your current weather app get wrong that drives you nuts?
Makers: when your app already spans several platforms and has an audience, how do you decide what NOT to change in a big redesign?
