Race Engineer v1.2 is an engineering-first motorsport game about running one car from the workshop and pit wall. Study telemetry, plan named tire sets, fuel, pit windows, and weather contingencies, then make every call yourself. Five rival teams use component builds, tire wear, heat, fuel, and deterministic 120 Hz physics, with no hidden grip bonuses. Review decisions after each race and reuse evidence through an engineering notebook. Built largely with GPT-6 Astra in Codex. Free for Windows.

Race Engineer v1.0 is out. The first version leaned too hard toward driving, so I rebuilt the career around the workshop and pit wall. Sana drives; you handle fuel, tires, parts, telemetry, and race-day calls across an eight-weekend season. You can still drive optional shakedowns or jump into Sandbox, but the career never makes you get behind the wheel.

I built most of this update with GPT-6 Astra in Codex.

Race Engineer turns motorsport engineering into a playable evidence loop. The player manages a car from the workshop and pit wall: plan fuel and named tire sets, develop parts, compare controlled telemetry, read weather, and make live strategy calls against five physically simulated rival teams. GPT-6 Astra was the main development partner in Codex. It helped plan and implement the Unity C# systems, refactor the career, generate and review tests, diagnose race-state and save bugs, drive Blender and Unity asset workflows, run UI reviews, and package the Windows release. Astra does not run inside the game. It was used to build and verify the product end to end.
