Protocall 2.1.6 is out — mostly the "stuff we finally fixed" update
Shipped a new iOS version this week. Nothing flashy, just a bunch of small things that were bugging our own team enough to finally fix:
— Redesigned message bubbles and the context menu inside chats
— Cleaner active call screen with clearer controls
— Secret Chats now have their own distinct look, so you can't accidentally forget you're in one
— Smoother reactions
— Video messages show their duration before you hit play
— One-tap Reply/Forward on video messages
— A pile of smaller bug fixes
None of it moves the needle on its own, but this is the kind of stuff that decides whether people actually stick around after the first week — which matters more to us right now than any single flashy feature.
Curious how others here think about this: do you prioritize this kind of "invisible polish" work, or does it always lose out to shipping new features first?
