Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Yuriy, an independent software engineer and product builder.
Today I'm introducing Propagandometer — an AI-powered tool designed to help people recognize propaganda techniques, manipulation, and logical fallacies in the information they encounter every day.
Why I built it
We live in a world where information is abundant, but understanding it is getting harder.
Emotional pressure, selective evidence, misleading arguments, and subtle manipulation are everywhere — in news, social media, political speeches, and even everyday conversations.
I believe technology should help us think independently, not tell us what to think.
That's the idea behind Propagandometer.
What you can do today:
🔎 Free Express Analysis — Paste text or a URL and get an assessment across 21 criteria. No registration required.
🔍 Full Analysis — Explore highlighted passages with explanations of the techniques detected. You can browse public examples right now.
🌍 Multilingual support — Analyze content across different languages.
Where we are now
The project is in early public alfa. Express Analysis is free, while new registrations for expanded access are handled through a waitlist.
It's an independent project, supported by voluntary donations. I'm also exploring business applications of the same technology.
One important principle: Propagandometer is not a truth detector. Its AI assessments are interpretive, and the goal is to encourage critical thinking, not replace it.
I'd love your feedback:
Does seeing manipulation techniques highlighted directly in the source text help you evaluate an argument more critically?
Try it with something you've recently read. I'm especially interested in where the analysis gets things wrong.
