Portabyte - Upload, store, and deliver files with one API

by•
Portabyte is file infrastructure for modern apps. Upload, store, and deliver files through one API without wiring together S3 buckets, presigned URLs, CDN rules, or delivery auth. Get direct browser uploads, scoped API keys, public and private file delivery, an S3-compatible API, and a dashboard to manage everything in one place.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I’m Daniel, the maker of Portabyte. File uploads look simple until you actually have to build them properly. You start with object storage, then suddenly you’re dealing with presigned URLs, bucket policies, CORS, CDN configuration, private file access, API keys, usage tracking, and a bunch of infrastructure that has very little to do with the actual product you’re trying to build. That’s why I built Portabyte. Portabyte gives developers one file layer for their applications — from the moment a user uploads a file to the URL used to deliver it. With Portabyte you get: • Direct browser uploads without exposing your API keys • Public and private file delivery • Scoped read/write/delete API keys • Stable delivery URLs and signed private links • S3-compatible access for existing tooling • SDK + REST API • Storage, usage, projects, keys, and billing in one console The goal is simple: you should be able to add production-ready file infrastructure to an app without becoming an expert in object storage and CDN configuration. There’s a free plan, so you can create a project and try an upload without paying anything. I’d especially love feedback from developers who have built file uploads on S3, R2, Cloudinary, or similar infrastructure. What’s the most annoying part of file handling in your apps today? 👀
