What was the hardest part of learning PLCs and automation for you?
Hi everyone! 👋
I’m Michael, a process engineer at a manufacturing plant in Poland. Every day I work with production lines, robots and PLCs, and I keep seeing the same problem: new maintenance techs and operators want to learn automation, but most materials are either long video courses or dense manuals. Hard to fit into a shift.
So I built PLC & Automation: Robot Course, a Duolingo-style android app with short, bite-sized lessons on automation basics that you can do on your phone during a break.
It launches here tomorrow, and before that I’d love to hear from you:
What was the hardest concept for you when you started with automation? (ladder logic, sensors, safety, robot programming)
Which topics should come next? I’m planning a second level with more modules.
Any feedback is welcome, honest criticism included. I’m building this as a small side project, and real input from people in the field matters most to me.
Thanks!
