Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I'm excited to finally share PLANNR with you all.
Over the last couple of years, AI has completely transformed how we build software. Today, writing code is no longer the biggest challenge—knowing what to build is.
I kept seeing founders and developers jump straight into AI coding tools with nothing more than a rough idea. The result was usually the same: unclear requirements, missing features, inconsistent architecture, endless rewrites, and a lot of frustration.
That's why I built PLANNR.
Instead of asking AI to generate code immediately, PLANNR helps you think through your product first. It asks the right questions, understands your idea, recommends the right tech stack, and generates a complete implementation-ready blueprint—including PRDs, SRS documents, feature breakdowns, user flows, API specifications, database design, and more.
The goal isn't to replace developers or AI coding assistants. It's to make them dramatically more effective by giving them a clear plan before development begins.
Building PLANNR has been an incredible learning experience. Every iteration came from real feedback and constantly asking one question:
"What would help builders ship better products—not just faster code?"
We're still at the beginning of this journey, and there's a lot we want to build next. Your feedback will directly shape where PLANNR goes from here.
I'd genuinely love to hear:
💚 What part of product planning consumes the most time for you?
💚 If you could automate one step before coding starts, what would it be?
PLANNR has been built by a solo founder with the belief that every great product deserves a great plan before a single line of code is written.
Thank you for checking out PLANNR and for supporting independent makers. Every comment, suggestion, and upvote means a lot. 🚀

the way PLANNR spits out a full folder structure alongside the PRD is such a thoughtful touch, saves me hours of setting up repos from scratch

One thing that would really help me as a user is the ability to import an existing rough draft or bullet points and have the AI structure it into a full PRD or SRS, rather than always starting from scratch. A lot of us have notes in Notion or Google Docs already, and copy-pasting into a blank prompt feels like extra friction. Even a simple "import markdown" button would save time.

Tried generating an SRS from a rough product pitch and the output was surprisingly structured, even flagged a few edge cases I hadn't thought about. Folder structure suggestions were a nice bonus.

A templating system would be super helpful here, like saving your favorite prompt setups as reusable blueprints. Right now every doc generation feels like starting from scratch. Would love to quickly spin up a PRD using my house style for sections like user stories, edge cases, and success metrics.

Love how the output breaks everything into clean, scannable sections instead of one massive wall of text. The folder structure blueprints especially feel like something a senior PM would actually want to hand to a dev.
