Phosphor - Spaced repetition app with FSRS: cards from lectures

by•
Phosphor is a spaced repetition app for people who study from lectures. Paste a YouTube link, type a topic, or paste notes you already have. It writes a summary and notes, then builds flashcards from them, and each video card links to the second it came from. Cards are scheduled with FSRS, so each one comes back on the day it starts to fade. Export any deck to Anki. Free to start; Pro lifts the limits.

Hi Product Hunt, Emon from Teamz Lab here. You watch a lecture, follow all of it, and a week later most of it is gone. Hermann Ebbinghaus measured that curve in the 1880s: the loss is steep at first, and every time you pull an answer back out of memory it flattens. Phosphor is a spaced repetition app built around that: it makes the cards, then brings each one back on the day it starts to fade. What is inside: - Cards from a YouTube lecture, a topic you type, or notes you paste. A summary and notes come first, then the flashcards. Each video card links to the second it came from. - FSRS scheduling. You grade a card Again, Hard, Good or Easy; hard cards come back sooner and easy ones wait longer. - A reminder timed to when a card starts to fade, with the question on it and the four grade buttons. - Quizzes, cloze cards and concept maps, so you are not tested the same way every time. - Export any deck to Anki, so you are never locked in. What it deliberately is not: a replacement for a big Anki deck you have tuned for years. If you enjoy writing your own cards, Anki is excellent. And a summary alone is not the goal here: it is the start, and the cards are what you keep. Free to start, and Pro lifts the limits. Android is live today; the iPhone version is next, and its App Store link is already on this page. If you already use spaced repetition: what keeps you on your current app, and what would make you switch?
