What is the sweet spot for notification frequency?

Every app owner wants users to remember that their app exists and obviously use their app. There is a handshake agreement when the user opts in to receive notifications that they want more interactivity from the experience. But what is the boundary when the notifications become too bothersome and users turn them off out of avoidance? Does anyone have any experience with this? I was thinking of having a weekly reminder if the user hasn't opened the app in 7 days - is this a sweet spot or is this already too often? The research shows that it is completely based on perceived value of the notification, but in general the advice is less than 5 times a week which seems obvious.

If you have a partner, do you both have restaurant reward accounts or do you share one?

I'm curious to see if it would be worth it to work on the use case of a single rewards account trying to feed multiple people with rewards. It would look something like this:

What other brands would you like to be added to the reward catalogue?

Burger King, Papa John's, and Domino's are currently in the queue.

ChowRadar - Every restaurant loyalty program, tracked in one app

Every loyalty app shows one brand's points. ChowRadar unifies them all: Chipotle, Starbucks, Chick-fil-A and more. Then, it ranks every reward by real cash value per point, so you instantly see the best free food you can redeem right now (or how close you are). Import balances from a screenshot with on-device OCR. No accounts, no upload over the web, no ads. It's not another brand app; it's the one that tells you which brand's reward is actually worth using tonight, and which points to save.
