Plus (€3.49/mo) unlocks unlimited AI. Bootstrapped in Amsterdam. Servers in Ireland, no US subprocessors for user data. #1 period tracker in the Netherlands with 30,000 active users and ~150 organic signups a day. The privacy-first alternative to Flo and Clue.

Hi Product Hunters! 👋 I'm Lisa, co-founder of PERIOD. with my brother Diederick. We built this because cycle tracking shouldn't mean handing over your most intimate health data to ad networks. PERIOD. is what we wished existed when we saw Flo settle with the FTC over sharing user data with Facebook. EU-built from Amsterdam, servers in Ireland, no US subprocessors, no data resale — ever. The Free tier stays free forever for the basics. Plus (€3.49/mo) unlocks unlimited AI conversations on PMS, PCOS, PMDD, hormonal contraception, and women's health more broadly. We're already #1 period tracker in the Netherlands with 27,000 active users. Now we'd love your help reaching women in markets where the bar for privacy in femtech is still embarrassingly low. Happy to answer anything about: • Building privacy-first AI in healthcare (EU AI Act, GDPR, no training on user data) • Bootstrapping a femtech with two founders (no VC) • The Flo lawsuit and what we learned designing the alternative • Why most cycle apps are weirdly anti-woman by default Thanks for the love. 🩸 — Lisa

Genuinely love the privacy angle, that's a huge reason I'd switch. One thing that would seal it for me: a partner share mode where my boyfriend can see a simple "fertile window" or "rough energy level" view without any of my actual notes or data. Right now most apps either overshare everything or nothing, and a middle ground would make daily life way easier.

Finally tried PERIOD. and the EU servers thing genuinely sold me, plus the AI answers felt way less generic than Clue's. Did not expect to like an app this much.

One thing that would make this stickier for me is a quick daily check-in that just asks how my energy and mood are, then ties it to patterns in my cycle over time. Flo kind of does this but it's buried, and Clue barely touches it. Would love to see PERIOD. lean hard into that correlation view since the AI is already there.

Love that this exists, especially being EU-hosted with no data resale. One thing that would make me switch from my current app is a partner sharing mode where my partner can see a simple “fertile window / period incoming / low energy day” status without getting access to detailed logs or notes. Would make communication way easier without sacrificing privacy.
