Launching tomorrow: a collage studio built entirely from public-domain archives 🎨✂️

Hey everyone — I'm Trevor, and I'm launching Pasteup here tomorrow (Saturday). Wanted to give this community a first look before the official launch.

Pasteup is a free, browser-based collage studio. You can search millions of openly-licensed images from the NYPL, Smithsonian, and Europeana, or upload your own photos and scans — then cut, tear, tape, and layer them into something new.

A few things I'm genuinely excited about:

• An X-Acto knife tool that actually splits an image into two separate pieces along a freehand cut

• A cassette J-card canvas format — a real, foldable tape-insert layout with fold lines built in, for anyone into mixtape nostalgia

• Everything's sourced from public-domain archives, so there's never a stock-photo fee hanging over anything you make

I built this solo, and I care as much about the boring parts most people never see — real database security, a hardened image proxy, a tested Content-Security-Policy — as I do about the fun collage tools.
