ParlApp - Text and voice chat that translates meaning not just words

by
ParlApp is the messaging app built for real conversations across languages. You speak your language. They understand your meaning. Unlike traditional translators that translate word by word, ParlApp uses context-aware translation to understand what you really mean, even when your messages include cultural expressions, typos, slang, idioms, nicknames, incomplete sentences... So instead of awkward translations, your messages sound natural, personal, and accurate.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I built ParlApp because most translation tools still translate messages one word at a time… and that breaks real conversations. A client’s name becomes a regular word. An idiom gets translated literally. “Piece of cake” suddenly makes no sense. Context gets lost, and with it, trust. ParlApp was built differently. Instead of translating messages in isolation, ParlApp understands the full conversation, who’s speaking, what’s being discussed, names, tone, prior messages, and business context so translations feel natural, consistent, and human. That means: • International teams can communicate without switching languages • Families can stay connected across languages without losing meaning or warmth • Parents, partners, and loved ones can talk naturally even if they don’t share a common language • Client names stay client names • Industry terminology stays consistent • Voice notes work the same way; speak naturally, the other side hears or reads it in their own language Each person chooses their own language per conversation. You write in English, your client or friend reads in Spanish. They reply in Spanish, you read it in English. A few honest notes: • Web + Android available today. iOS is on the roadmap. • Not end-to-end encrypted; translation happens server-side. If encrypted messaging is your top priority, there are great tools for that. ParlApp is built for multilingual communication first. • Free to try. I’d genuinely love feedback, especially from people working across languages, in-laws, friends, loved ones, clients, or international markets. I’ll be here all day answering questions. Ask me anything 🙏
