Hello Product Hunt! We at Packup are excited to release our new app/website out into the wild today! We started our journey in early 2020 after finding ourselves stuck at home but still dreaming of outdoor adventures to get into. Thinking back on a complex multi-day ski traverse along the Wapta Icefield in Alberta, Canada, the idea for our app was sparked. After a lengthy pre-trip planning and packing process for our group (four friends spread across four different cities), we were inspired to create a platform that could reduce friction in the packing process for future adventures. As multi-sport enthusiasts, it can be difficult to keep track of every single piece of gear needed when headed to the backcountry, let alone when doing trips that involve multiple activities and gear that can be used in multiple applications. Introducing more than 1 person in the mix compounds that complexity since you may want to share group items as well. With Packup, you can create a trip with your trip members, create a custom packing list based on your activities, coordinate on group packing lists, and ensure that everyone has everything they need, nothing more and nothing less. Our mission is to increase the safety and enjoyment of outdoor adventures by improving competency and preparedness. With an increase in people getting outdoors, it's imperative to make sure everyone has the knowledge and gear necessary to recreate safely. Forgetting an important item can be embarrassing at best, or life threatening and dangerous depending on the circumstances. With Packup, we will ensure that no item is left behind. We are so excited to see users getting out there and having amazing adventures, and would love any feedback on how to make it better. Thanks, and safe travels!
