Why I'm building Pace — a break reminder that respects your flow

by•

Hey, I'm the solo maker behind Pace. I wanted to share why I'm building this, because it's personal.

Sitting is the universal condition of modern work.
Most of us sit 8–10 hours a day. It's not a willpower problem — it's just what desk work is.

The harm is slow, quiet, and compounding.
A stiff neck here, tight shoulders there. Nothing dramatic — until years of it add up. The damage of sitting isn't one bad day; it's a thousand unremarkable ones.

What we're missing isn't knowledge — it's habit.
Everyone knows they should move. Nobody needs another lecture. What we lack is a way to build the habit without it feeling like a chore — or like malware locking your screen.

That's what Pace is for.
A tiny Windows tray app: one gentle nudge, one small movement, at the right moment. Never locks your screen. Never shames you. Just helps the habit stick.

Because it compounds in the other direction, too.
Move a little → feel a little better → think a little clearer → work a little better. Rest well to work well.

And it's about control.
Your time. Your body. Your energy. I'm not here to preach — I just want to help you feel in charge of your own day again.

Pace launches November 3rd. If this resonates, hit "Notify me" — and tell me: what made you delete your last break-reminder app? I'd genuinely love to know.
