Overlaysmith - Add one image overlay to browser video calls

by•
A Chrome extension that puts one image — a banner, a title, a logo, a lower third, a frame — on your outgoing webcam video in browser video calls. Bring your own, type one, or describe one to the AI image tool you already use. No account, no cloud, no subscription. Your video goes to your call — and nowhere else. The meeting is theirs, the frame is yours.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Terrance, and I built Overlaysmith because of a tabletop game. I've run a superhero campaign for six players over video off and on for many, many years. I wanted a banner on my camera, a GM screen, a session title, a "back in 10" sign, and every option meant streaming software, a virtual camera, or an app the whole group had to install. I just wanted an image on my video, in the browser call we were already using. So I built it. Overlaysmith puts a transparent image (a lower third, a logo, an agenda, a sign) on the video you send in browser calls. It's tested on real calls on 11 platforms, including Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex and Slack. What surprised me: it works when you're a guest. A vendor's Zoom call came up while I was testing, and I realized nobody has to allow it. The meeting is theirs, your camera is yours. A few things I cared about: - No account, no cloud, no tracking. Your images stay on your machine. - A built-in lower-third maker, so you don't need a design tool. - Step through your overlays from the keyboard mid-call. - Free with a small mark; $1.99 once removes it forever. I'd love to know: what would you put on your camera first?
