Pick your genres and country and our AI ranks what TikTok and Instagram are really recommending right now, with where to watch and the videos to prove it. Free to run.
Hey PH! I'm Yuri, co-founder of Oriane. This is tool #6 of my "10 weeks to launch 10 free tools with Oriane's API".
When you want to know what to watch tonight, you either open a streaming app and stare at the same ten thumbnails, or scroll TikTok for twenty minutes watching "what to watch" videos, hoping you remember the title long enough to type it into Google before you forget.
The truth is the best recommendations already exist. Creators say the title out loud, react to it, tell you exactly why it's worth your two hours. But none of that is searchable. Nobody's indexing the movie someone mentioned four minutes into a random TikTok or Instagram Reel.
We built a huge infrastructure that watches and listens to millions of videos across TikTok and Instagram so you don't have to. This free (and no sign up required) tool is a small slice of that, using our API.
Pick a genre and your country. Our AI checks what's actually available to watch where you are right now, then ranks it by how much people are genuinely talking about it on social, not by what a streaming algorithm wants you to click next. Every pick comes with the videos behind it so you can judge for yourself, plus where to watch, the trailer, and the release date for your country.
All Free. No login. Works great on mobile too.
I'd love your feedback: what movie or show will you be watching tonight thanks to this tool?
On the product & tech side the movie-picking logic is not the most interesting thing, it's what we're skipping entirely: no IMDb rate, no Rotten Tomatoes, no centralized rating source at all. Movie Finder doesn't need one, because the underlying signal comes straight from the crowd, and a crowd that size can't really be gamed the way a review system can.
That's only possible because of what the Oriane API unlocks: pulling structured metadata across multiple verticals (spoken mentions, captions, visuals, who's on screen) from millions of social media videos, simultaneously, instantly. Getting one of those signals from one video is trivial. Getting all of them, reliably, across TikTok and Instagram, at the volume needed to make "what's actually being talked about" statistically meaningful, is the actual infrastructure problem.
Once that data layer exists and answers in seconds instead of hours, building something like Movie Finder on top of it stops being a multi-week project. It's a few hours of wiring a UI to an API that's already done the hard part.
Happy to go deeper on the technical part, try me in the comments!
The problem we're solving with this new free tool is simple: The best movie recommendations are not on streaming home screens, they are in creator videos. Someone says the title out loud, reacts to it, and tells you exactly why it is worth your two hours. But none of that is searchable, so you scroll for twenty minutes and forget the title before you can Google it.
So this tool does the scrolling for you. Pick a genre, movies or TV shows, and your country. It ranks what TikTok and Instagram creators are actually recommending right now, shows you the videos behind every pick so you can judge for yourself, and tells you where to watch it in your country, trailer included.
Free. No signup. Under a minute.
We ran thrillers in the US: 683 creator videos analysed, and the top pick had 221.3M views of creator buzz behind it. One single TikTok about the number 4 movie had 34.2M views on its own.
The fun part for this community: the whole thing is a thin app on the Oriane API. Yuri built it in under a day with vibe coding. The API does the seeing and hearing inside videos, the app is just UI on top.
If you want to build your own tools on it, happy to get you access.
Would love your feedback on this tool, and tell us what other free products we should build in the next 4 weeks?
