Makeup artists and beauty pros test these products every single day and say out loud what works and what doesn't. But that's buried inside millions of videos, and none of it is searchable. The product name is spoken, never typed.
We built a huge infrastructure that watches and listens to millions of videos across TikTok and Instagram so you don't have to.
This free (and no sign up required) tool is a small slice of that, using our API.

"Pro recommendation" and "sponsored plug" look nearly identical on the surface. Same product. Same enthusiastic tone. Same camera setup. Anyone can transcribe what's said. Telling a genuine makeup artist giving her honest opinion apart from paid placement or an amateur repeating a trend is a different level of signal to extract. It has to happen before a single product gets ranked, not after. And that's the layer Oriane is actually built on.
Identifying who's talking (professional context, not just follower count), what's being said about a specific product, and whether the framing reads as a paid push or a real opinion, all pulled from raw video, at the volume needed to make "top 10" mean something statistically, not just the first 10 results that happened to come back.
Beauty is a good stress test for this because the incentive to fake authenticity is higher here than almost any other category. If the ranking holds up here, it holds up most places.

Beauty is the most reviewed category on the internet and almost none of it is trustworthy. The "best of" lists are media buys. The affiliate roundups rank whatever pays the highest commission. The honest opinions are in videos, said out loud by pro makeup artists mid-tutorial, and nobody has the time to watch a thousand of them.
So this tool does the watching for you. You pick a category and a finish, lipstick and gloss for example. It watches Instagram and TikTok videos from pro makeup artists, counts who reaches for what on camera, and returns a top 10 with the receipts: how many pros featured it, how many posts, how many views, why it ranked, and the actual clips so you can hear the pros say it yourself.

What we found on our own run is the fun part. 1251 videos from 527 pro makeup artists, and a Maybelline gloss came out first, ahead of Dior and YSL. Prestige budgets do not buy you the same thing as pros reaching for a product on camera.
The part this community will care about: the whole thing is a thin app on the Oriane API. Yuri built it in under a day with vibe coding. The API does the seeing and hearing inside the videos. The app is just UI on top.

Excited for this! Nothing sucks more than seeing a compelling post on Tiktok/Instagram on a product I'm interested in only to see that it's a paid partnership. Would future updates of the app contain a location filter? I ask because recommended products might not be available in each country + factoring in climate might be helpful :)
