I built this by accident. Key insight: The harness matters more than the model. Own the harness. This is the way. The journey went like this: 1. Build a simpler WordPress alternative so I don't have to keep updating people's websites for them. 2. Build me.json protocol so AI agents can interact with websites easily, i.e. subscribe to newsletters, book sessions/calls or buy products. Cool, this works... might be on to something... 3. Oh, it's 2026... website builder = lame... Let's make it an AI assistant you can host yourself without touching the terminal. 4. Oh, the harness is what makes the agent useful. We should own that if we want to be free. Time to add... email, calendar, notes, project kanban... 5. Create plugin system so people can build their own plugins... 6. Not perfect. Time to share it anyway. Using it for a few weeks. It's replacing the following apps on my phone: notes/reminders/calendar/tasks/todo apps. Getting close with Gmail + ChatGPT. Now working on improvements to the agent, building a mobile app that allows you to connect to your instance easily to improve mobile UX. And a desktop app to get it to work locally.

how does the AI assistant part actually work under the hood, is it running local models or hitting an external API by default? curious what kind of hardware i'd need to host the whole stack comfortably
