Why we built an open-source, local-first editor for .riv animations
by•
Hey Product Hunt community! 👋
As interactive vector animations and state machines become the standard for modern UI, design teams often face proprietary lock-in, cloud mandates, and forced sign-ins just to edit UI assets.
We’re launching OpenRive on October 5th. a local-first, login-free editor built specifically for .riv files that play natively across official Rive runtimes.
We'd love to hear from you ahead of launch:
What’s your biggest friction point with current interactive animation tools (Rive, Lottie, etc.)?
What features, integrations, or runtimes would you want to see prioritized on our open-source roadmap?
Drop your thoughts below. we’re actively taking feedback and building in the open! 🚀
