Free, open-source tool that turns your portfolio into an AI-powered advocate. It answers questions about your work and drafts warm intro emails, removing friction so your network can support your job search instantly.
Asking for help is a superpower, but we often make it too hard for people to help us. I built a free, open-source tool that removes the friction and helps you land your next opportunity.
Ever hesitated to ask for an introduction because you didn't want to create more work for the other person? This project solves that. It's an interactive portfolio with a built-in AI assistant that empowers your network to advocate for you effectively.
I noticed a fascinating pattern. The biggest challenge in a job search isn't a lack of willingness to help; it's the friction involved in the process. We send a resume and hope people connect the dots. We ask for a "warm intro" and leave the heavy lifting of drafting the email to their contacts.
I wanted to change that. So, I built an experimental tool that flips the script. It’s a one-page, interactive portfolio designed not just to be read, but to be engaged with.
Here’s how it makes asking for help easier:
🤖 Your Personal AI Assistant: The page has an AI chat feature trained on your professional story. A potential contact, recruiter, or friend can ask specific questions ("What's their experience with managing a team?") and get immediate, concise answers.
⚡ Instant Introduction Drafting: This is the key. The tool includes a "Draft a Warm Intro Email" feature. Your contact simply enters their name and the recipient's details, and the AI generates a thoughtful, personalized introductory email in seconds. They just have to copy, paste, and send.
The goal is to remove the guesswork and the "blank page" problem for those who want to support you.
Takeaways & Action Steps:
My core belief is that we should be the architects of our own opportunities, and that includes building the tools to make it happen.
🔹 Reduce Friction: Think about one area in your job search or networking where you can make it easier for others to help you. Can you provide a pre-written blurb about yourself? A list of target companies?
🔹 Clone and Build: If you're inspired, I've made this entire project open-source. You can clone the repository, customize it with your own information, and create your own AI-powered portfolio today.
Call to Action:
This project was built in the spirit of community and mutual support. I would love to hear your thoughts.
