openHAB 5.0 - Matter support, a new Python Scripting add-on and more!

This latest major release of openHAB comes with Matter support, an improved iOS app, an upgrade to Java 21 (dropped 32-bit support), a new Python Scripting add-on, 20 new add-ons, and 330 bug fixes to the Core, UI, and Add-ons.

The openHAB community has been hard at work on the Summer release of openHAB. It brings many great features such as: - Matter support - A new Pything Scripting add-on with full Python 3.11 support, thanks to GraalPy. - iOS core improvements, as well as support for managing multiple homes, and Kiosk features with an embedded screen saver. - A major overhaul to the Semantic Tagging system, including improved validation rules, drag & drop support and management of custom tags on the Main UI, and improved support by add-ons. - 20 new add-ons (such as Matter, Ring, IKEA DIRIGERA, OpenAI TTS Voice, LG ThingQ, and more). - Improvements to the Log Viewer. - A convenient option to convert from the UI-managed setup into a text-based configuration. - The option of updating rules created from templates without having to delete them.
