Open Success Convert started with a friend who runs an accounting firm. He knew I'd spent years working in document processing, and he asked a simple question: in the age of AI, could I build something to take the pain out of the manual work his team did every day? He showed me a stack of real bank statements — messy scans, awkward layouts, handwritten notes — the kind most tools can't handle. So I built an app for his firm to test on their actual workload. They've since processed over 3,000 statements with very high accuracy. Seeing how much time it saved them, it became clear this could help a lot more people than one firm — so I turned it into Open Success Convert.

The auto-validation sounds like a real lifesaver for messy statements. One thing that would help a lot for monthly bookkeeping would be letting us set custom rules for categorizing transactions, like flagging anything from a specific vendor as a recurring expense so it doesn't have to be tagged by hand every time.

Thanks for the suggestion. Quite a few accountants gave me the same suggestion. Processing bank statements is the first step. Next steps will be processing receipts/invoices and auto reconciliation and intelligent categorising transactions according to users' previous records. I'm pretty close to this, but need more tests before release.

The free 5-page trial converted a messy multi-currency scan on the first try, no fiddling with column mappings. Validation summary caught one duplicated transaction I would have missed, which sold me on it.

Thanks for your support. This is what exactly we are aiming for:)

genuinely appreciate that you offer 5 free pages with no signup — that kind of friction-free trial makes me way more likely to actually test it on a real statement instead of bouncing off a paywall.

Thanks for your comments. Yes, minimising the friction is our goal for every aspect of the product.

How well does it handle statements from smaller regional banks where the transaction format is pretty inconsistent across months?

I have tested on many smaller regional banks, but definitely not possible for every bank. The inconsistent format should not be a problem. You are welcome to give it a go.
