Hey PH 👋
Onit is a reminders app that builds itself from your messages.
The story: an insurance renewal email arrived in March. The negotiation
window closed ~30 days later. By the time the invoice came, the
leverage was gone. Apple Reminders didn't catch it because (a) I had
to create the reminder manually, and (b) one notification fires once
and disappears.
Onit solves both:
1. **Message-connected** — read-only Gmail, a per-user
forward-email address, or a Telegram bot you DM/forward into.
You never type a reminder.
2. **Persistent** — escalates from weekly → 3-day → daily as the
deadline approaches. Only "Done" or "Snooze," never "Dismiss."
3. **Action-window aware** — fires before the window closes, not
when the deadline hits. Insurance renewals 30 days early.
Software trials 7 days early. Domains 14 days early.
Privacy is the moat: Gmail is read-only (never sends, modifies, or
deletes). Full message bodies are never stored. OAuth tokens
encrypted at rest. No analytics SDKs. One-tap disconnect deletes
everything within 24h.
iPhone only for now. Free to start, Plus unlocks extra sources.
Would love feedback on the action-window concept specifically — does
the 30-day insurance lead time match how you actually negotiate?
