Donera: Screen Time Control - Today's one thing, done first. Then your apps open.

Your apps stay locked until you finish your one task. Try to open TikTok or Instagram? You’ll see your task instead. Finish it → unlock everything. No timers. No motivation tricks. Just a system that makes procrastination harder than doing the work.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I used to get stuck in the same loop every day — open phone “just for a second” → TikTok → hours gone → nothing shipped. Then I realized something that honestly changed how I think about procrastination: It’s rarely a discipline problem. It’s a starting problem. The hardest part isn’t doing the work. It’s crossing that first tiny threshold. So I built ProcrastinationTerminator around that idea. It’s very simple: you pick one small task for the day (or get one suggested) when you try to open TikTok, Instagram, YouTube — they stay locked they only unlock after that task is done And there’s this very specific moment it creates: “Fine… I’ll just do this first.” What surprised me most is what happens after that. Once you cross that first tiny threshold, the resistance for the rest of the day just drops. It stops feeling like “forcing discipline” and more like you’ve broken the autopilot loop. The momentum kind of takes over. Curious how this lands with others here: Is procrastination actually about discipline — or is it just that starting feels heavier than everything that comes after? Would love to hear your thoughts 🙏

Forcing focus by locking the phone is a bold bet — love the commitment. Does it let you set the task inside the app or does it pull from an existing task manager? The capture step is always what breaks these tools

Yeah, exactly — that's why we added quick-start templates during onboarding. They preload common "easy to start" tasks so users can tap one and go, or write their own in one line. The goal is to get them from "I should focus" to "the lock is on" in under 10 seconds.

Under 10 seconds from intent to locked — that's the right target. The template approach is smart, removes the blank slate problem that kills most focus tools at the critical moment. Congrats on the launch!

Thanks, really appreciate the thoughtful read

Nice concept!

Do you set the task daily within the app? Or do you preset it on a weekly or monthly basis?

Thanks! Per-session, not scheduled. You open it when you're about to procrastinate, set one task, lock your apps, go. It's built for that exact moment, not for planning the week.
