OnChat is a 1-click paid group chat launcher on Base. Drop an embed into your app or site to spin up a monetized chat channel - fully permissionless and on-chain.
Meet OnChat: the 1-click paid group chat launcher on Base.
Add paid group chat to your:
app
website
community
blog
with a drop-in plugin
Why it slaps:
no backend - smart contracts + RPC calls straight to Base
fully permissionless, on-chain messages
Why creators win:
every message pays a small fee in ETH -> channel owners earn
No BM for me:
100% of protocol revenue (20% of creator earn) -> buyback + burn $ONCHAT token (permissionless call)
OnChat is fully on-chain - not just "no login", but no central backend server at all. Chat data lives on Base and stays accessible even if I stop maintaining the service.
This is mainly built for web3 product builders who want to add monetized community chat fast - without running servers, managing databases, or trusting a centralized provider.
If you try it, I'd love feedback on the embed flow, pricing UX, and what integrations you want next.
Super interesting. So all messages are fully onchain and payments are automated? Chatting might feel a bit heavy since each message triggers an onchain call, but that also opens a lot of potential since every message becomes a microtransaction. Great job!
@andrew_cho Yep - messages + payments are handled on-chain and fees route automatically. Totally agree per-message on-chain writes are "heavy", but the upside is huge: the chat history is public on-chain data, so it's verifiable, composable, and durable - it doesn’t disappear even if I stop maintaining the service, and anyone can build their own client on top of it.
